D Morgan's Environmental and Sustainability management system is based on three commitments:
- Provision of adequate resources for effective environmental management.
- Continual improvement of the Environmental Management System (EMS) to achieve improved environmental performance.
- Compliance with relevant legislation and regulations as a minimum performance standard
Our objective is to balance the need to achieve our business aims with the need to protect and improve the environment.
We use our knowledge and experience in planning to carryout work, minimising our environmental footprint by understanding the impact of our actions on our environment and taking more care. We seek to use innovative technologies including to reduce noise levels, air pollution and exhaust gas emissions.
Industry Accreditation – Environmental Management System (EMS)
Our EMS has been established to comply with International Standard ISO 14001:2015, for the following scope:
- Provision of Earthworks
- Land Remediation
- Demolition & Recycling
- Drainage and Civil Engineering Services
International Standard ISO 14001 enables us to review our environmental objectives and targets, continually improving the environmental impact of our activities. The effectiveness of the system is constantly monitored and independently audited.
Resource Management - Waste Management System
Through the Site Waste Management Plan process D Morgan will re-use or recycle the materials generated on site including careful dismantling of structures and segregation of demolition material.
Materials including roofing slate, timber, bricks are salvaged for reuse and our approach is to seek a 100% sustainable record.
Aggregate is produced compliant with the WRAP protocol and specification for highway works.
