ROF Bishopton, Dargavel Village, Glasgow

Location:  Bishopton Village, Nr Glasgow

Overview:
This ongoing project is regenerating one of the largest brownfield sites in Europe: 809ha (2000acre) former Royal Ordnance Factory at Bishopton. Creating the sustainable community Dargavel Village, comprising of 2,500 homes, business park and the associated infrastructure of new link roads from the A8 and M8 motorway. 
Scope of work
Demolition, remediation and major earthworks; locating and protecting live underground High Voltage, water, gas and telecoms services and pipelines; re-profiling and engineering the site; construction and maintenance of temporary soils storage areas for storage and treatment of contaminated soils.

Omega, Warrington

Location:  Warrington

Role:  Principal Contractor
Overview:
Site Infrastructure & Road Construction, for a £1.25 billion mixed use development, 240ha (593acre) former US Air Force Burtonwood  Airbase, including new businesses, homes, leisure, landscaping and realignment of the associated M62 Junction 8 Link.
Scope of work
Demolition of World War II aircraft hangers and runways; recycling the existing hard standings; ground remediation; construction of spine roads and extensive hard and soft landscaping; collaborating with private Developers to complete their individual plot infrastructure requirements, ranging from extensive warehousing through to housing developments.

ROF Chorley, Buckshaw Village, Lancashire

Location:  Buckshaw Village, Lancashire
Value:  £22m
Role:  Alliance Partnering
Overview:
ROF Chorley was the largest munitions factory in Europe, 405ha (1000acre) . The 15-year phased remediation project regenerated the site for the new Buckshaw Village housing, schools, retail, leisure, industrial and commercial development. D Morgan undertook the first remediation contract on site followed by a further 11 contract awards, including a link road from the M6 Junction 28.
Scope of work
Demolition of hundreds of heavily reinforced concrete munition manufacturing underground structures; recovering 1,000,000m3 of recycled concrete requiring over 2,000,000m3 of earthworks, ground remediation including recovery of un-exploded ordinance and disposal, construction of highways, including drainage and attenuation using recycled material and landscaping.

The Airfields, Deeside, North Wales

Location:  Deeside, North Wales
Value:  £8.4m
Role: Principal Contractor
Overview:
Phase 1 & 2 of the former RAF Airfield development awarded by the Welsh Assembly Government and private developer for residential and commercial plots over 60ha (150acre) including 1.8km of highway access roads.
Scope of work
 Over 100,000m3 cut/fill ground remodelling, demolition and recycling of hard standings, substructures and structures. Two new access roads, installation of dewatering systems, flood alleviation including, forming swales in excess of 2km, installation of a 2km rising main and pump stations. Installation of secant piling & sheet piling, protection and relocation of  ecological habitat.

Heysham Port - New Linkspan Bridge & Associated Quay Wall Works

Location:  Heysham, Lancashire
Value:  £4.5m
Role:  Principal Contractor
Overview:
Redevelopment of Heysham Port  in response to the Bay Gateway link road connecting Heysham directly with the M6 motorway. significantly increasing port traffic to the Isle of Man and Ireland. A new link-span bridge at Heysham Port, Lancashire, was built to increase throughput of vessel activity.
Scope of work
Specialist Marine Engineering maintaining Port operations, harbour piling, installation of RoRo Linkspan Bridge to increase freight traffic. Underwater and abseiling surveys of quay wall and structural repairs. Tidal works, including rock break out and dismantling of existing bridge structure.
