13th to 19th May

Mental Health Awareness Week is underway from the 13th to 19th May aiming to raise awareness and drive positive change for everyone’s mental health.

At D Morgan, Emotional Health and Mental Health & Wellbeing support is embedded in our business and signposted on all of our equipment: We understand the issues and support our People in a way that is very clear and practical.

Our Emotional Health & Wellbeing Policy and Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) helps colleagues in need to express how they are feeling and talk about their Mental Health & Wellbeing with structured assistance from our team of trained First Responders and Mental Health First Aiders.

Let’s all remove the stigma about Mental Health - It’s GOOD to express emotions BY TALKING - Don’t be isolated feeling alone.

Our second careers fair visit to Coop Academy Woodslee Primary School was such a great event. The children were enthusiastic, knowledgeable and wanted to learn more about construction and what the industry had to offer. Hopefully we will see them in the years to come operating our machines or as a Quantity Surveyor or Civil Engineer!

What a lovely surprise! The children of hashtag #RivacreValleyPrimarySchool invited D Morgan to their D Day concert where we were presented with all these lovely thank you cards for their new play area.
Just by giving a little to the local community can mean so much to them. We will be back there soon for another little project, watch this space...

Project - Rivington Chase, Horwich

We had the pleasure of welcoming Chris Green MP for Bolton West to our project last week, to take a look at the good progress made during recent months.

Chris Green MP secured £12m in funding towards building this new spine road which will divert heavy traffic from Chorley New Road and the Beehive roundabout whilst connecting Horwich with Middlebrook for the developing area of new housing and commercial property. There will be over 4 hectares of employment land in the south east corner of Rivington Chase to create new job opportunities.

Community Support - Sensory Path

Members of the D Morgan plc and Balfour Beatty plc team from the Central Rhyl Coastal Defence Scheme have been busy creating a Sensory Path for 'The Oak Tree Centre' in Rhyl.

The centre is at the heart of Rhyl and has a multiple purpose use, including Family Information Service, Childcare and Play Ranger Service. The centre is committed to providing a safe play environment for all children and young people to develop physical, mental, social and emotional health and wellbeing.

The centre has over 650 young children and families using of the centre daily. Sensory paths are designed to reduce anxiety, stress & excessive energy, encourage exploration, touching, and interaction. Our team ensured they used robust materials that can withstand curious hands!

Well done to everyone involved, including Cyngor Sir Ddinbych _ Denbighshire County Council.
